On Wednesday, December 21, at about 3:30AM, country singer Michael Ray was arrested for a DUI after a crash at a McDonald’s in Eustis, Florida. Michael Ray, best known for his 2015 country hit, “Kiss You in the Morning,” crashed his 2012 Jeep into the car in front of him at a McDonald’s drive-thru. Police, responding to the crash, observed Ray’s slurred speech and bloodshot eyes and administered field sobriety tests. When conducting a search, law enforcement discovered a bottle of cannabis oil in Ray’s pocket.
According to the arrest report, Ray told police that his foot slipped off the pedal of his car, causing the collision.
The 29-year-old was arrested on suspicion of DUI and marijuana possession. Ray is being held on a $6,000 bond.
Ray released a statement via his publicist, stating: “I want to apologize to my fans, family, and my hometown community for placing myself in this situation. I am so very sorry for the disappointment these events have caused everyone. I know it will take time; however, I will do everything I can to rebuild your trust.”
